On October 19, 2026, a delegation from The New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM), led by Editor-in-Chief Dr. Eric Rubin and Associate Editor Dr. Ruiping Xiao, visited CAMS & PUMC. Xunming JI, President of CAMS PUMC, met with the delegation.

President Xunming JI extended a warm welcome to the NEJM delegation and recognized NEJM's long-standing contributions to the advancement of medical knowledge and to raising standards of clinical care. He expressed the hope that the two institutions could join forces in areas such as healthy aging and deepen cooperation in medical innovation, advances in clinical care, and the international journal development.

Dr. Rubin spoke highly of the achievements of China and CAMC PUMC in medical research and clinical research. In his views, NEJM and CAMS PUMC have a solid foundation for cooperation, and he looked forward to expanding collaboration across multiple areas including health aging and journal development, and working together to advance global health.

After the meeting, Dr. Eric Rubin was invited to deliver a keynote "The use of AI in research and publishing" at the CAMS PUMC Master Lecture. Vice President Hui PAN chaired the event and presented him with a commemorative certificate. More than 400 faculty members and students attended in person, and nearly 1,000 joined online.
