On August 21, a delegation led by Carlos Acosta Montoya, Director-General of International Cooperation, Science and Technology at the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID), visited the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences Peking Union Medical College (CAMS PUMC). Vice President Chen WU met with the delegation.

Vice President Wu Chen outlined the Academy's history, disciplinary strengths, and current progress in the biomedicine sector. She emphasized that CAMS PUMC places high importance on exchanges and collaboration with Mexican institutions, and expressed willingness to strengthen cooperation with AMEXCID in areas such as researcher exchanges and visits, the establishment of joint working groups, and the co-organization of international conferences. She noted that such efforts would create more opportunities for mutual understanding and scientific collaboration, contributing to the advancement of public health in both countries.

Director Carlos Acosta Montoya spoke highly of CAMS PUMC's achievements in medicine research and development, cancer prevention and treatment, and medicinal plant research, while also providing an overview of AMEXCID's work. He expressed hope that the visit would serve as a starting point for enhanced communication and cooperation in areas including new medicine R&D and translation, the protection and development of traditional medicine, and childhood cancer prevention and treatment, with the aim of jointly advancing collaboration across various fields.

The meeting was attended by relevant officials from AMEXCID and the Embassy of Mexico in China, as well as representatives from the Office of Major Special Programs and the Office of International Affairs of CAMS PUMC.
