Peking Union Medical College (PUMC) sponsors outstanding medical students to pursue international academic and professional experiences, thereby cultivating high-level talents with global perspectives, broadened academic horizons, strong international skills, and robust research and innovation capabilities. Medical students of eight-year M.D. program and nursing students may complete 2–6 week clinical or research electives at world-leading institutions during their senior years. Graduate students may participate in international academic conferences, joint training programs, visiting scholar programs, and other relevant activities throughout their enrollment.

PUMC has established partnerships with the following institutions and programs: University of Chicago, Johns Hopkins University, University of Michigan, University of Oxford, University of Melbourne, Medical University of Vienna, University of Hong Kong, Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Project Empadurance.
